This historical dammuso, situated on the remote Sicilian island of Pantelleria, dates back to the first half of the 19th century. Recently renovated to provide all modern luxuries, it represents the traditional architecture that is characteristic of this magnificent island. The majestic estate is situated in the village of Rekhale, in the south-western area of the island. The phenomenal location provides a breath-taking view over the sea and sunset. While guests can enjoy the privacy of this large estate, it is conveniently located near the main shops and services in the villages of Rekhale and Scauri, and not far from some of the most popular sites, such as the thermal sources along the coast in Nikà, Balata dei Turchi and the volcanic steam jets locally called Favare. The estate provides two separate accesses going through the olive groves and part of the garden and reaching two private car parks. There are several outdoor comfortable areas, ideal to relax in the shade of natural coverage locally called “cannizzi”. One of the highlights of the property is its refined infinity pool, surrounded by century-old olive trees – locally pruned short to the ground to protect them from constant wind. This gorgeous estate, which can accommodate up to 10 people, is made up of two separate dammuso (the tradition dwelling on the island). The master house has two bedrooms – each one with its own bathroom and a big wardrobe – and a beautiful living room which includes a comfortable kitchen and overlooks an outdoor area equipped with a barbecue and a stone oven (perfect to bake pizzas or other typical dishes from local gastronomy). Two other bedrooms with private bathrooms have their own independent accesses. The other dammuso is totally detached from the master house and includes a double bedroom, a bathroom, and a private, vine-covered terrace. This majestic property, situated in the remote sea between Sicily and Africa, is truly a gem. Guests are immersed in nature, but with all modern comforts; they enjoy privacy, but without isolation; they stay within Italy, but with distant views of Africa. It is an enchanting retreat indeed.
