The uniqueness of this single-family villa is founded on a land of extraordinary morphological characteristics, which has remained unchanged. The land with about 12,000 square meters, is located in an area of natural protection due to the existence of several cork oaks. Nature arises as an integral part of the house, valuing inner spatiality. The slope of the facades suggests the continuity of the land. The materials used stand out for their simplicity, and the joining of the concrete with the glass walls and the ebony wood open the luminosity to its interior. The house access is through a Portuguese paving road in local granite, that rounds the cork oaks and ends in front of the huge asymmetric cap, giving the entrance a majestic appearance. The lighting was placed artificially, and strategically, in a non-aggressive way to the site. The swimming pool, narrow, with saltwater and crystal clear, is a great space for the contemplation of nature with the chirping of birds as background noise. It is a 10-minute drive away from the city of Amarante, and 45 minutes away from the city of Porto.
