The main house was constructed in the early 1900�s, and extensively renovated in 2007. The guesthouse built circa 1930 was also modernised. The extensive seven car garage was completed in 2007. The addition of a sauna/gym area in 2010 has the added benefit of an external Jacuzzi area in close proximity to the main house.
The main house is arranged over three floors with a fantastic feeling of space throughout. The unusually high ceiling, and exposed original wooden beams create a wonderful and cosy alpine feel. The extensive master bedroom suite spread across the garden level benefits from uninterrupted views that extend across the Rhone Valley. The large glass sliding doors provide easy and inviting access to the terracing and extensive grounds surrounding the house. The first floor has an expansive wraparound balcony with views in every direction and is a wonderful place to entertain guest and/or family . The top floor completes the house with the remaining three bedrooms and two further bathrooms.
The guests house rounds up the living area and is ideal for extended family and friends. The self-contained area is conveniently arrange over one level. The double height vaulted ceilings extend the feeling of space in this separate light filled unit. Two bedrooms, living area, open stone surround fire place, open plan kitchen, extensive cave a garage are all within moments of the main house.
The main ski resort is about five minutes� drive by car but the village also benefits from a shuttle bus system from the bottom of the road which runs all-round the local area and to the ski resort�s main lift station. It is also possible to ski back to the property from the resort provided you have the appropriate knowledge of the local ski conditions and ability.
The ski resort is continually upgraded with a new chair system is being installed at the end of 2021. The skiing is excellent, for all levels, and particularly for off piste touring. The lift system remains open in summer for access to the mountains, the local restaurants and summer activities. Ovronnaz is also one of the main centres for Telemark skiing in the winter months.
Located in Canton de Valais, it is 23 km from Sion airport and has easy access to the beautiful market town & local capital of Sion itself. The extensive ski area of The Four Valleys is within 30 mins drive, whilst Verbier is 52km (circa an hour by car), with Zermatt just over an hour and a half.
Ovronnaz is also noted for the thermal baths. They are about 10 minutes walk from the house via the local footpaths
